I love sourcing furniture, I am always looking around to see what is new, and lately I have noticed that nightstands are having a moment. They are being gorgeously styled, and are now pieces of furniture that stand on their own and don’t get lost in a sea of wood. A long time ago, it was very popular to buy a bedroom set with everything matching to perfection. I was never sure if I was into that, except for my childhood bedroom that was all white wicker and I loved it (very little house on the prairie) But now, as we are now seeing a lot of upholstered headboards and modern canopy and poster beds, there is an opportunity to play with the nightstand situation. Now that is only the start, the next fun thing is styling them. Books, trays, table lamps, art, diffusers, chargers (even though them being so close disrupts sleep), etc…the possibilities are endless.
So as you can see, the perfect nightstand basically consists of:
- A LAMP. They are perfect when you are winding down at the end of the day to start relaxing. It really makes a difference in creating a relaxing atmosphere.
- A PLANT OR FLOWERS. Just waking up and looking at your favorite blooms or plant will steal a smile from your face. Bonus points if it is one of those plants that helps cleaning the air.
- CANDLES. And if you know me, I prefer a non toxic, soy wax with no artificial fragrances. It really adds to the relaxing atmosphere when you are ready to hit the sac or on a lazy Sunday…or Monday.
- BOOKS. Disconnecting from technology, may it be phones, iPads or TVs is the best you can do for having a good night sleep.A good way to get your brain to start slowing down is to read a book. Having them on hand not only serve as decoration but also help you get sleepy!
Now that you have the basics, now we need the perfect nightstand for you! Here, I found a few that are equally gorgeous but very different in style, I’m sure you’ll find one that you love. And the best part is that they are all under $200. I am taking care of you kid 😉 Pick your favorite and let me know if you need help styling the rest of your bedroom.
