Growing up in the dry desert where really nothing much grows on its own, we are always amazed at the amount of trees we had in the PNW. So, naturally, during the warmer months, we wanted to spend a lot of time outside. Like, a lot.
We mainly picked this specific townhome we used to because of the view that it has to the trail, and we love spending time out there when the weather is nice. We currently only have a bistro table, a couple of chairs and the grill, but from time to time we take our dining table outside, chairs and all, and we have even taken our lounge chairs out when we feel like just chillin outside. This is not ideal of course, but since this is a rental property, we don’t want to spend too much money on furniture that will be too small to use when we buy a home. But that doesn’t mean that I have not dreamt about decorating that space. So, if you feel like you are ready to spruce up that dusty terrace and turn it into a space you actually want to hang out in, but at the same time you don’t want to spend too much, you can check this mood board out for inspiration.
One of the main things that I feel it gives a terrace a more homey look the string lights, so I would say if you want to just get one thing from this list, definitely get the string lights. My parents have them in the patio and it makes it look beautiful at night. I certainly want to get that look here, specially now that the rain is finally gone and we can enjoy a glass of wine (or two) out there. That and the sofa, or some place to sit, and that is really all you need, aside from your fluffy companion, boy toy, husband and/or friends and maybe chips and dip, and a drink. That’s what I would like to call the essentials.
If you decide to go for it, please share! I’d love to see how your space turned out.
